Limo Ride

Chris and I have some friends from Traverse Mountain. (yes, believe it or not, we do! : ) ) Any way, one of our friends owns a limo business. He is awesome! If you ever need a limo, or just want a fun time, check him out HERE .

So we got the whole family together, and went for a ride in the largest limo around.

No specific destination, we did see some pretty cool Christmas lights, but more than anything, we just wanted the kids to have fun.

And they did. They were pretty impressed with some of the people who had ridden in this limo: Jazz players, Grizzly players, Sean Hannity.

We even had some yummy chocolates to eat---thanks Aunt Mary!

It was a really fun time had by all!

Maybe we'll do it again some time....

Visiting Grandpa and Santa

Today is the 3rd anniversary of my dad's passing. Since Aynsli was so little when he died, and Emi has never met him in this life, I wanted to make sure that we have a tradition about Grandpa. He was such a wonderful man, and loved his family so much. I want to make sure that my girls know that. That they can know him, even if he isn't here.

So we go and visit Grandpa's grave, and then go to dinner with Grandma. Aynsli drew a picture for Grandpa, so we put it in a sheet protector, and took it with us to his grave. I am sure that Grandpa was smiling. Both my mom and I were kind of sniffling once we got back in the car. Aynsli asked why Grandma was sniffling...I told her because she missed Grandpa. Aynsli said, "Don't worry grandma, you'll see him soon enough!" Lets hope not too soon!!

After dinner we went to visit Santa. Last year Aynsli absolutely would not sit on Santa's lap. The closest we could get, was her standing next to him. This year she wasn't really sure she wanted to do that either. But, she was absolutely positive that Santa would bring her a cupcake maker for Christmas. I told her that the ONLY way Santa could MAYBE even do that, was if she sat on his lap and told him that is what she wanted. There was lots of careful consideration, and even some volleying back and forth whether or not she would actually do it, but in the end, she did it! Aynsli sat on Santa's lap on told him what she wanted! Well, ok, she sat next to him on the couch, but at least she let him put his arm around her for the picture.

Christmas Sugar Cookies

This year our Weaver family decided to do a service project instead of exchanging gifts. We went to the homeless shelter, and decorated cookies with all of the children staying there. So in preparation for the 14 dozen cookies that had to be made, we did a trial run...

I think it was a success! Both girls enjoyed "decorating" and taste testing the sugar cookies! They were great! Thanks to the Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix from Costco!

EarthSoft Christmas Party

Saturday night was Chris' work Christmas party. It was held up at the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville. It was a Victorian themed dinner and program. They took you in a wagon to the Livery Stable where it was held. The food was quite interesting but good. This is a picture of Chris and his Utah co-workers who were in attendance.

They were holding a dance afterwards, but we didn't stay for it. There was a line for the wagon, so this guy and his horse and cart offered to take us back to the parking lot. Believe it or not, all three of us fit in that tiny little cart. Emi wasn't too sure of the ride--it was kind of bumpy--but Aynsli would have loved it.

FHE on Temple Square

Chris has wanted to go down to Temple Square for quite some time, so the other day we decided to go for family night. It was great because the weather was perfect, and it was pre-holiday uncrowded.

Aynsli had never been in to see the Christus before, and this was Emalie's first trip to Temple Square. Aynsli wanted to hear the story of Jesus over and over, and still asks to hear it frequently.

Standing on the stairs of the temple.

They already have all of the Christmas decorations up. It was kind of fun to see them.

Second Child Syndrome

Poor Emalie has second child syndrome. Here she is 8 months old, and she has never had pictures taken at a portrait studio. So we finally took her last weekend to get her pictures taken, and of course they turned out so cute! Just had to share.

Oh where do we start?...

Life has been so busy crazy lately, and I have not done a good job at keeping up on my blog. I am going to take a few minutes and try and update you on the goings on in our family...We are finally settled into our house, and are loving it. It is nice to be "home" and to know that we aren't going to have to move for a long time. I still haven't taken pictures of the house, but I will get to that soon, I hope.

Aynsli

Aynsli is growing up so fast. So often we hear, "she speaks so well", or "she is so smart". We know both of those things very well, and are always pleased to hear it from others. Unfortunately though, at times, we forget she is only 3. Some days she is more like a little adult, and we need to be better at treating her like she is 3. She started preschool this fall, and is loving it. She has learned her colors, can count to 10, and sing Where is Thumbkin, all in Spanish. She has made good friends, and is a good helper. She got glasses earlier this fall, and we were told it would be a struggle to get her to keep them on. Fortunately, she has done wonderfully at wearing them. And she looks so cute in them. Aynsli adjusted to our move well, and has enjoyed her new nursery class. She is making new friends, and loves to ride her tricycle on our driveway--something she couldn't do at the old house. She loves writing notes to people, and is doing well at writing her alphabet letters. She is my smartie pants, and is quite a princess as well. She loves her dresses, heels, and purses!

Emalie

Can you believe that Emi is almost 8 month old? It hardly seems possible that the time has flown so quickly. My tiny little button in preemie clothes is growing up. She weighs about 14lbs at loves to sit up, roll all over the place, and eat. She thinks that if we are sitting at the table, we should be eating. And she should be eating whatever it is the rest of us are eating. Just in the last week she has had corn chowder, curry chicken, ravioli, mac n cheese, pancakes, and numerous other foods. I haven't found much that she won't eat. She has the most contagious laughter, and her smile will melt your heart. What a beauty my princess is!

Fire Truck Fun

Over the weekend we went to the firestation to get our free flu shot. While we were there, the fireman was kind enough to give Aynsli--and Dad--a tour of all the fire trucks. They thought it was pretty great!

Aynsli wants to drive the fire truck when she grows up

Climbing into the transport

Those are some big firetrucks!!

Aynsli and Mr. Fireman

Looking at all the gadgets--Dad thought it was pretty cool too!

At first Aynsli wasn't too sure about ringing the bell. Then she got into it. Then it was too loud!

Fall Fun

We went up to Grandma's today, and let the girls play in the leaves. The weather has been so nice, we had to get out and enjoy it. Aynsli thought it was a lot of fun. Emi just wanted to eat leaves, and wouldn't look at the camera for nothin'!
