A little bit of creativity...

I'd like to think that I am crafty and creative. It isn't necessarily so, but don't spoil the dream for me. My mom gets the PaperCrafts magazine, which I love to look through, and it always gets me in the mood for doing something. Name Frames have been my thing lately. They are fairly easy to do, and usually turn out pretty good. The one above is one I did today for my nephew, who is being baptized on Saturday. I had already put it in the frame when I scanned it, so it is a little fuzzy. The one below is for my little buddy Keegan. His was scanned sans frame, so is clearer, but doesn't quite give the full effect. I worked on his for like six weeks--it didn't take me that long, well not really, it was that I didn't have much time, and was still working on putting together the office/craft room/nursery, so it got buried a couple times. It has been done now for a couple weeks, now I just need to get it in the mail to him. Hopefully it won't take me six weeks to get it in the mail, but you never know these days....

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Well, the Thanksgiving weekend is officially over. The company has all gone home, and the house is slowly returning to normal--whatever that might be. But oh what a party we had. This is the first time in six years that I have had Thanksgiving with my family. We had it here at our house, which was lots of fun, and we had a houseful. I think the official number for Thanksgiving was 25. It was lots of time and hard work eaten up in just a few short minutes, but what a blessing to be together, to be able to celebrate and to have such a bounty. How blessed we are. The weekend was full of all kinds of activities: pie night at the Wakefields, tearing Mom's living room apart, much hard work done refinishing the floor by the guys, a little bit of Black Friday shopping, a trip to see Mr. Magoriums Magical Emporium, the all important BYU-Utah game, for which we had another houseful of die hard party fans, and the big reveal of Mom's living room--it is gorgeous! Definitely a weekend to remember, and so much to be grateful for.

Oh the moods of little ones...

Last night we made a quick trip to the mall to pick up a couple items, and Santa Claus was there. He was down on the first level, and we entered from the top level, so as we walked by, we pointed out to Aynsli that he was down there. We went and made our purchase and then since there was no one in line, decided to take Aynsli down there to see if she would sit on Santa's lap. Last year, Aynsli would have NOTHING to do with Santa, even though she knew him very well. (Daddy had a gig the last 2 years playing the Ho Ho Ho Man).

She was fine until we were about 10 feet from him, and then with every step her grip got tighter on my hand. By the time that we reached Santa, she was WAILING and was not about to sit on his lap. I picked her up, and talked to her, and Santa talked to her, and she eventually calmed down. Santa pointed her to the candy cane and reindeer ears and I put her down and she collected her cane and ears. Santa asked her what her name was, and she said "I'm three". He asked again, and she finally told him her name. He asked what she wanted for Christmas, and she said a pony. She was starting to warm up by this time, and actually gave Santa a hug before we left. All the way home she was talking about Santa, and asking where he was. Then, at bedtime, she said the prayer, and prayed for Santa, Grandma, and the new baby. Oh to be two again.....

Our new house

This isn't exactly chronological, but we've needed to add this picture for awhile. We were blessed to move from Michigan to Utah back in August, and this is our new home. We love it, and are so glad to be here. We miss our "Mich-y" friends so much, but are glad to be by family.

Boy or Girl?

Well, this isn't exactly how we pictured this post, but you know how stubborn children can be.
We went in today for our ultrasound, and got lots of good views of different parts of the baby, but he (that is just the default term, not confirmed) wouldn't cooperate as far as sharing that kind of information. So now we have to wait another 4 weeks. We took Aynsli with us, so she could see the baby and share the news...but all she says now is that she has a baby in her tummy. We will keep you posted and hopefully will have more specific news in 4 weeks. We have a DVD of today's ultrasound, and are trying to figure out if there is a way to post part of it for you to see. Check back, we'll update fairly frequently!

My friend Karen is a wealth of information, and fun...

I check my friend Karen's blog frequently, because she is very good about updating it, and usually has something interesting. This is what I "borrowed" from her today...

This website is a vocabulary quiz, and they donate 10 grains of rice through United Nations, for every word you get correct. There is no end to it, just as many as you want to go through. I donated 940 grains of rice. There were many words that I guessed at, and more that I had never heard of. It was fun, but be aware, you just have to stop whenever you choose; at least I could find no end to it.

This one is just some holiday fun. It took me a minute to figure out...you have to keep cutting 'til pieces are cut and fall out, otherwise you just get a circle....

A little website fun!

I saw this website on a friends blog, and had to check it out. It was really cute, and worth sharing. It is in Dutch, but you don't have to read anything. Just give it a few seconds to start....

Halloween 2007

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
This is the first year that we have had Wesley with us for Halloween. It is also the first year that Aynsli has really had any idea of what is going on.

We carved pumpkins, and each one got to design their own, but somehow, Mom ended up doing most of the cleaning out and carving. Even Dad did a pumpkin, and said it was the best one he had ever done.

Aynsli did one with triangle eyes and a heart mouth. Chris' pumpkin is the big one in the middle with the "C" nose. Wesley designed his own, a little less conventional than the rest, with only one ear, but really cute.

The kids dressed up in their costumes, Aynsli a pink Princess, and Wesley a Jail Bird, and Dad took them trick or treating around our new neighborhood. They had lots of fun, and got way too much candy. Aynsli has asked almost everyday since to go trick or treating!

Weaver Family Halloween

We were able to go up to Logan for the Weaver Family Kids Halloween party. We didn't get pictures of every one, but here is most of the kids. It was a fun time. Wesley was a Jail Bird, Aynsli a pink Princess. Cousins Joseph as pirate, Matalyn as Lady-in-Waiting, Jacob as duck and Spencer as cow.
