So we went to Logan for a few days over the weekend. Chris had a work thing, but in our family, work things are family things, and family things are work things, to a large extent. Thursday night we stayed with Mat and Katie, and watched all the kids while they were gone. We were getting them ready for bed, and then of course Chris had to get them all riled up. First the cookie monster, now the Tickle Monster. The kids loved it though, and finally managed to all pile on top of him.
Emalie had her first popsicle over the weekend too. Unfortunately we didn't grab the camera to get it on film. But it was pretty cute. It was a sour green apple icee pop, and she loved it. She would cry every time I took it away from her mouth.
Mom came up on Friday, and had made cute new outfits for all of the girls. We went to Scots for the EarthSoft company BBQ, and got all the girls together for a picture. There were at least 3 of us taking pictures, and I don't know how many we all took, but Tessa started to throw a fit, so this may be one of the only pictures where they were all cooperative.
Saturday we had a birthday party for Wesley. It was quite fun. All the cousins came over, and they jumped on the trampoline, played in the water, and we had lunch. I have made birthday cakes of Wesley's choice for the last several years, and this year he decided he wanted a Lego cake. It actually turned out quite well, but unfortunately we didn't have the camera around to see the finished product. He wanted red, but the food coloring just couldn't get red. It turned out more orangeish, pinkish, redish. Think silly putty--that is about the color it turned out. And the funny thing was, most all of the kids knew exactly what it was, most of the adults had no clue. Here is a picture of the cake we took the idea from....just think silly putty!
